Dr. Williams, along with experienced Peruvian guides and Q’ero shamans, leads trips to Cuzco, the Sacred Valley, Machu Picchu, and other sacred Andean sites. Along the way, we conduct ceremonies to Pachamama (the mother of Earth-Time), the Apus (mountain spirits), and the Awkikuna (nature spirits) learning in the traditional way of the Incas as once taught by the Amauta (sages).

La Busqueda - Initiations at the Foot of the Mountain

October 21-28

This journey for advanced shamanic practitioners provides an unparalleled initiatory experience in authentic Andean shamanism under the guidance of Santiago and conducted by Sebastian and other Q’ero shamans. The Spanish word “busqueda” implies the search for spiritual truth. We follow ancient practices and learn the Five Principles, Q’ero shamanic teachings, and other aspects of Andean wisdom including teachings on mamacoca, care of ritual stones and crystals, and attending the mesa – ceremonial altar to Pachamama. This part of our training is conducted by Santiago and Nicolas, Sebastian’s eldest son and an initiate in the family tradition of shamans that extends to a time before the Incas. LAKE TITICACA & PUNO JOURNEY

October 28 – November 3, 2007

A land of pristine skies and floating islands, Lake Titicaca is the highest (12, 421 ft) navigable lake in the world.  This journey is for those who wish to participate in ceremonies honoring mamacocha, the spirit of the lake, the place where Incan civilization started, through ceremonies with native Aymara shamans called yatiris. Here we stay in the dwellings of traditional island people and get an intimate glimpse of local culture. We also visit sacred sites of the region such as Amaru Muru, a stone portal considered an ancient “star gate” associated with the lost solar disc of the Incas. Our timing is perfect to take in one of the most interesting festivals of the year, The Day of the Dead, when ancestors are honored and which is of particular importance to the Aymara cultures of Peru and Bolivia. It is also the time for celebration of the anniversary of the founding of Puno, the capital of the region and the legendary first city of the Incas, marked by stunning dances and local music.  FOR MORE INFORMATION
