What Makes Our Tour Distinctive?

  • Your tour is led by Santiago who has lived and worked closely with the Q'ero since 2000. His experience in Latin America with indigenous people is extensive and covers more than three decades of research and shamanic training. He is fluent in Spanish and has a working knowledge of Quechua. Santiago (Dr. J. E. Williams) is the author of The Andean Codex and other books: www.andeancodex.com and www.drjewilliams.com.
  • Discovering the Andean Codex © is the signature tour for the book, The Andean Codex. You can read the book before your trip as an introduction and use it as a resource after your journey for years to come. Secret shamanic teachings embedded in the book are revealed in the teaching aspect of the journey.
  • The Andean teachings - the five principles - presented in our tour are a direct transmission from the ancestors of the Incas and are offered with the approval and blessings of the Q'ero.
  • We pay our guides and the Q'ero fairly. In addition, they participate in a profit sharing program where the proceeds go to further building projects, education, and artisan ventures.
  • We leave no footprint. Our tours honor the Earth and assure that not the smallest piece of paper remains from where we conduct ceremonial work. Our philosophy is eco-sensitive and all practices are environmentally sound.
  • Our guides meet you when you arrive in Lima and provide exceptional service the entire trip. We make sure you are well taken care of so you can concentrate on the main purpose of your being in Peru - to learn the teachings and absorb the experiences and participate in the ceremonies without worry or distractions, or illness from foods or altitude.
  • We know the places that tourists don't have access to and we take you there.
  • Our resident cultural facilitator exposes you to Andean culture, cuisine, dance, music, and her people, as well as to history and pageantry. The Cuzco cultural scene becomes readily available to you, even during your short stay. Cultural events change according to time of year.
  • Our groups are small, generally less than 25 people, assuring personal attention and the space to work deeply with the energies and spirit of the Andes.
  • We make available the opportunity for community service. We not only provide a fair exchange for indigenous intellectual rights, but give back in the form of community projects, educational assistance, and often help directly with our own labor.
  • You will receive a workbook, Return to Balance, written by Santiago to facilitate your experiences that can serve as a journal.
  • You learn and transform. While immersing into the experience of ancient rituals, no other tour offers you the quality, consistency, organization, authenticity, depth, and integrity
